3、bal heavy rail supply.#Asia accounts for 27%of global passenger transport and 34%of global freight transport activity.#The transport demand in the Asia and Pacific region increased marginally by 3%for passenger transport and 4%for freight transport in 2022.(Source:ATO)Current Negative Transport Exte

6、aintain,and repair inland transport infrastructure in Asia and the Pacific region could be about 14.5 trillion USD(in PPP,equivalent to 1.6%of GDP)by 2030.This is about 3 trillion USD higher than the investments in the 20 10 to 2020 decade(ATO,2021).#Multilateral and bilateral development organizati

17、DGs agreed at the 15th Regional EST Forum in Asia,24-26 Oct 2023,Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia We encourage our international development partners:To better align and increase their financial assistance with the goals of the Aichi 2030 Declaration to help expand transport infrastructure and services more su

18、stainably and thereby facilitate the full implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals,the Paris Agreement on Climate Change,and other global and regional agreements on sustainable development,climate change and bio-diversity preservation and ecosystem restoration.Take account of the need tha

19、t all countries,including the least developing,landlocked countries,and small-Island countries,are in need of financial assistance for the development of their transport systems.To work with the countries participating in the EST Initiative to develop and implement innovative financing approaches th

20、at can scale up the impact of financial assistance from development agencies.To develop so-called blended financing models that will accelerate the inflow of private sector funding,including from institutional investors,especially in sustainable transport infrastructure and investments.To expand int

21、ernational climate finance in line with international commitments and ensure that a fair share of international climate finance is allocated to the transport sector in Asia and the Pacific.To work with EST countries in the definition and use of suitable environmental,social,and governance(ESG)invest

22、ing indicators to define and demonstrate the sustainability of infrastructure investments.To assist EST countries participating in collection and analysis of robust transport data.2)Strengthening capacity building and policy support in line with the Aichi 2030 Declaration.We encourage our internatio

23、nal partners:To substantially scale up their activities in capacity building and policy support in support of the Aichi 2030 Declaration Goals.To strive towards a better geographical balance among countries in the provision of transport-related capacity building and policy development support.To ens
