3、3|The Tech for Good Report 2023One of the greatest challenges facing humanity-today,tomorrow and for future generations-is the climate crisis.This is an urgent priority its inescapable and its clear that society is going to need to change its behaviours if were to make real progress.Digital transfor
4、mation,accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic,has led to innovation across many areas of society,aiming to address the unmet needs of today and tomorrow.Larger organisations focus on Environmental,Social and Governance(ESG),combined with the emergence of Tech for Good start-ups and scaleups,means were
5、 seeing socially responsible companies of all sizes stepping forward with a greater social purpose.With this comes a greater need for the right connections,funding,equipment,space,skills,expertise and recognition.But how can we support them?Since 2019,Hays has worked alongside Empact Ventures to co-
6、design the Super Connect for Good competition.Through this annual global Tech for Good initiative,we aim to support the start-ups and scaleups of today who are tackling the worlds most pressing issues through a societal-focused lens with original ideas.Our winners benefit from exposure and recogniti
7、on both regionally and globally,helping them to attract further opportunities for development,growth and sustainability.We also work with our partners to support their journey,from guaranteed pilots to funding and business support.Meanwhile,we provide all applicants with super connections to potenti
8、al partners,clients or funders.Our 2022 competition was the third edition we have run together.Each year,the competition has grown in its global scope and,having previously been promoted across Europe,this year we welcomed start-ups and scaleups from Australia and New Zealand too.In recent years wev
9、e seen truly inspirational start-ups and scaleups drive innovation to support environmental sustainability,enhance learning and development,and support the treatment of patients everywhere in the health sector.Our overall winner,Global Teacher,provides a 3D-printed projector requiring no electricity
10、 or internet access to share learning resources with children in developing countries unable to access modern materials by traditional means.They also excelled in our annual Impact Challenge,in which we challenged applicants to outline how they could adapt their existing innovations to assist those
11、affected by the conflict in Ukraine.So,whats next for Super Connect for Good in 2023?We will be expanding our reach even further by inviting start-ups and scaleups from Asia to participate.In doing so,were able to build more global bridges between those in the Tech for Good space after all,collabora
12、tion and innovation go hand-in-hand.Well have two new Impact Challenges that once again throw down the gauntlet and makes entrants think about how they can tackle the pertinent,immediate problems posed by the mental health crisis and the need for clean drinking water for all.In this report,we featur

28、these countries and believed that I could help through creative thinking and design.Alongside struggles of my own,mentally,I was accessing books,podcasts and information that was helping to accelerate my growth as a human being.I realised that access and exposure to new ideas and information was the
29、 catalyst to growth both individually and as a society.What has been the biggest challenge as a Founder?Fundraising.To convince someone that your idea is worth investing in.We have been successful in this area but not to the degree that we deserve or to the degree that would really make this vision
30、come alive.This road feels long and hard sometimes but along the way there are many revelations and pick-me-ups that help you progress and level up.I wish to make Global Teacher internationally renowned,inspirational and ground-breaking.The vision is the highest I can imagine and I wont stop until I
31、 get there.Whats your proudest moment?Launching our offline,off-grid EdTech products Pod and Lumi in Sunderland.At a new business building called The Beam on the old Vaux site development.Vaux means a lot to the people of Sunderland and it is exciting to watch the grounds transform into the citys bu
32、siness district.We hope this will boost the local economy and make the city busy again.Launching our product here in January 2021 felt like we were part of the movement.Like we could contribute to the evolution of local heritage and inspire our city and put a stake in the ground for whats to come.We
33、 plan to grow here after setting up our HQ in Sunderland.Where do you want to see Global Teacher this time next year?Pod is currently in production and our ambition is to reach#OneMillionMarginalised children by 2030,which equates to 2000 units out in the field.We want to scale up,manufacture and bu

96、ch start-ups is reflected in the number of“Silicon Valleys”weve seen emerge in the east in recent years.While Bangalore,India originally held the title in Asia following the arrival of US organisations in the 1970s and 1980s,today Singapore,as well as Chinese cities such as Shenzen and Hangzhou,are
97、just as befitting of this label.Its no surprise that leading technology firms have set up delivery centres and innovation hubs in these areas,as well as India and Japan.With this has come increased adoption.As with many aspects of our new world,the pandemic has accelerated this development.COVID-19
98、led to the population embracing digital services,with 36%of users in South East Asia in 2020 having not engaged with these prior to the pandemic.In 2023,spending on digital technology by APAC organisations will grow 3.5x the economy.By 2026,40%of the total revenue for the top-2,000 organisations bas
99、ed in Asia will be generated by digital products,services and experiences.While,for SMEs and investors,growth is obviously a key priority,were at a stage where the purpose of technology must be considered ahead of future progress.Its vital that innovation addresses societal needs,be these linked to
