16、conducted in December 2020.It represents up-to-date information on the status and outlook of the global exhibition industry as well as on 29 specific markets,including France and Peru for the first time.UFI launched the barometer on the back of a global crisis the 2008 Financial Crisis-and this edit
17、ion updates and adds to the previous one released in July 2020 to produce an assessment on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the exhibition industry in the full year 2020,as well as projections for the future.With more than 450 participating companies for the second time in a row,the reach of t
18、his barometer is unprecedented.It enables us to share specific,vastly expanded insights into 24 markets and 6 regions.This is the result of global collaboration,and we wish to thank all the following associations who take part in the project.In addition to AFEP(Asociacion de Ferias del Peru),MACEOS(

22、s are not possible,working into the development of digital solutions.When looking at the period when a majority of companies declared“no activity”in 2020,it is limited to March-June for Asia/Pacific and April-June for North America,and April-September for Central&South America as well as the Middle
23、East and Africa.For Europe,an initial period lasted from April to August,followed by an additional period from November to December.When asked what element would most help towards the“bounce back”of exhibitions,a majority of companies,rank“Readiness of exhibiting companies and visitors to participat
24、e again”(64%of answers globally),“Lift of current travel restrictions”(63%)and“Lift of current public policies that apply locally to exhibitions”(52%)first.These“top 3”elements apply to all regions,except North America,where“Relevant hygiene measures”ranks second(with 51%of answers),and Central and
25、South America&the Middle East/Africa,where“Financial incentive packages leading to reduced costs for the exhibitors”ranks third(with 43%of answers for both regions).The 26th Barometer surveyed participants monthly operations,to qualify their level of activity as“normal”,“reduced”or“no activity”,from
26、 July 2020 and including their predictions for the first half of 2021.Companies were also asked when they believed exhibitions would open again in their city,and what element they considered most helpful towards the“bounce back”of exhibitions.The following chart presents the results,globally first,a
27、nd then for each region with comparison to the World.The first series of charts include the level of activity for the first half of 2020,as declared in the 25th Barometer concluded in July.Globally:-between April and August 2020,more than half of companies had no activity.-this situation changed as
28、from September,where a majority of companies declared the return of some operations,reduced for most.-for 2021,the proportion of companies expecting a“normal”level of activity grows from 10%for January to 37%for June.Those results vary depending on the region,and they are primarily driven by the“reo

35、6th UFI Global Exhibition Barometer/January 2021 Turnover-Operating profits Regional results indicate that:-The revenue drop for all of 2020 was highest in Central and South America and the Middle East&Africa(respectively only 23%and 24%of the 2019 revenue).Asia-Pacific(27%),Europe(32%)and North Ame
36、rica(36%)are on or above the global average;for 2021,the perspectives are rather similar for all regions:between 32%and 37%of the 2019 revenue for H1-2021,and between 55%and 60%for all of 2021.-In terms of profits,the percentage of companies who faced a loss for 2020 varies from 47%in the Asia-Pacif
37、ic region and Europe,50%in North America,58%in the Middle East&Africa,and 64%in Central and South America.The 26th Barometer surveyed the evolution of participants gross turnover,when compared to 2019,for the full year 2020,as well as their expectations for the first half of 2021,and for all of 2021
38、.The survey also questioned the evolution of operating profits for 2020 compared to the previous year.The following charts present:-the 2020,H1-2021 and 2021 revenues compared to 2019,on average for all companies,and also broken down per level of revenue realized(0%of last year,less than 25%,etc.).-

51、14%)than in the other regions.Further insight is also provided by type of activity(for 3 main segments:“Organiser”,“Venue only”and“Service provider only”),and the main differences can be spotted as to the 4th issue for each category:“Impact of digitalisation”for Organisers(13%of answers),“Internal c
52、hallenges”for venues only(10%)and“Regulatory/Stakeholders Issues”for Service providers(8%).Companies were asked to identify the three most important issues for their business in the coming year from a pre-defined list of eight issues,including the“Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the business”.Multipl
