3、 the Industry,U.S.Product Insights,Global Insights by Region,Industry Insights and Insights to Empower Positive Change.To develop this report,we surveyed our customers and cross-referenced these responses with aggregate data from our 71 million 2019 global searches to identify the key trends and mea
4、ningful insights that are driving the background screening industry today.However,wed be remiss if we released this report without also addressing how the industry is being affected by the global pandemic.2019 was the year of risk mitigation for our customers.It was a record screening year for uswit
5、h widespread increases in overall volume as well as increases in the average number of screens per candidate.In spite of the current global health crisis,we are still seeing the number of screens per candidate increase in 2020 but are anticipating there will be greater diversity in the types of scre
6、ens,especially around drug,wellness and antibody testing.Unemployment is at record levels,but were still seeing high-growth demand in many verticals.Retail screening is up 58%,Transportation is up 40%and Healthcare screening is up 85%.Were also seeing a major focus on accelerated time to hire.As som
7、e areas in APAC,EMEA and the U.S.are reopening businesses,were seeing the need for companies to hire at record speeds without compromising quality.Much like 2018 and 2019,companies are hyper-focused on protecting their employees and brand but speed to hire is more important than ever.We are rapidly
